The countdown to the N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon, which will be held for the 18th time this year, has begun. On Sunday, April 30, the heart of the marathon world will beat in Istanbul's historical peninsula. With the latest arrangements, the N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon track has been converted into a level track where competitors can break records. The countdown to the Half Marathon, which was upgraded to the 'gold category' by World Athletics in 2023, has begun. Renay Onur, General Manager of Spor Istanbul, stated that well-known athletes will take part in the organization.
The most notable name in the race is Kenyan female athlete Ruth Chepngetich, who broke the organization record with 1:04:02 in 2021 and finished first in the Nagoya Marathon a month ago.
On Sunday, 6,500 athletes will compete in the 21-kilometer half marathon, 6,000 athletes in the 10-kilometer event, and 200 athletes in the roller skating competition.
