The winners of the marathon were Kenyan athletes.
Organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), and sponsored by Turkey's Isbank, the 45th Istanbul Marathon started at 9:00 am at a point approximately 250 meters before the toll booths of the 15th of July Martyrs Bridge on the Anatolian side of Istanbul.
In the women's category, Kenyan athlete Beatrice Cheptoo emerged victorious, while in the men's category, Kenyan athlete Panuel Mkungo claimed the first place.
The event included not only the marathon but also a 15-kilometer race and an 8-kilometer public run, allowing participants of various skill levels to join in the festivities.
Turkey's Isbank, which provided support for the Istanbul Marathon for two years, both in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and the bank's own centenary in 2024, shared the excitement with tens of thousands of participants.
As one of Turkey's largest mass sporting events, the marathon was held this year under the name "Turkey Isbank Istanbul Marathon."
