J70s launch the 13th TAYK – Eker Olympos Regatta, a five-category celebration of Istanbul’s summer waters 
Under a blazing August sun, Kalamış’s turquoise waters became the opening scene of a nine-day, five-category nautical marathon where speed, strategy, and Istanbul’s maritime heritage converge. The 13th TAYK – Eker Olympos Regatta, which set sail on 8 August and will continue until 17 August, is already proving why it’s one of Türkiye’s most anticipated sailing spectacles.

The J70 class, sleek and precision-tuned, dominated the opening day—slicing through the Marmara’s shifting winds with tactical mastery. Crews from across Türkiye and beyond are here not just for trophies, but for the rare thrill of navigating Istanbul’s waters, where the city skyline meets the open sea.

“Perfect winds, fierce competition, and the unique challenge of our coastline—this is the spirit of the regatta,” said TAYK General Manager Can Giray.

Beyond Racing: A Floating Festival
More than a regatta, this is a celebration of maritime culture. Alongside the J70 class, the program features match races, offshore challenges, and model yacht showdowns, each carrying the energy from Kalamış to the Bosphorus and beyond.

Evenings bring Italian Night, Turkish Night, and Street Food Night, turning the docks into a meeting point where sailing meets music, gastronomy, and storytelling.
