All Eyes on Istanbul: Final Wrestling Tickets to Paris 2024 Up for Grabs
This week, Istanbul becomes the epicenter of Olympic dreams as it hosts the World Olympic Qualifiers in Wrestling—the final stop on the road to Paris 2024. From May 9 to 12, elite athletes from 93 countries will battle it out at the Başakşehir Youth and Sports Centre for the last remaining Olympic quotas.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. For many, this is the final shot at representing their country on the world’s biggest stage. The event opens with Greco-Roman showdowns, continues with women’s and freestyle categories, and culminates on Sunday, May 12, when the last Paris-bound wrestlers will be decided.
Hosted by the Turkish Wrestling Federation, the qualifiers are more than just a competition—they’re a celebration of Türkiye’s rich wrestling heritage, where history and modern athleticism collide. With its strategic location, world-class facilities, and centuries-old love for the sport, Istanbul offers the perfect arena for the ultimate Olympic showdown.
For the athletes, it’s about glory. For Türkiye, it’s about legacy.
