A Four-Day Journey from Sand to Sky

Manuel Lettenbichler Shines on Tahtalı’s Summit

Under the Mediterranean sun, riders dove into the sea after Friday’s forest stage. Less than 24 hours later, they were shivering atop a 2,365-meter peak, surrounded by swirling clouds and wind. Few races in the world offer both summer and winter in the span of a weekend — but Sea to Sky isn’t just any race.

For four days, Antalya’s Kemer district became the epicenter of the global hard enduro scene, as 382 riders from 37 countries took on the 16th edition of Sea to Sky Enduro, the fifth stop of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. It’s a race that begins on golden sand and ends above the clouds—a journey from beach to forest to alpine summit.

A Legendary Ascent

The final day began on Çamyuva Beach, where the warm morning air and turquoise waters made it hard to imagine the icy winds waiting on the summit. Riders charged through the forest trails of Kesmeboğazı before facing the event’s signature challenge: the brutal rock climbs leading to the summit of Tahtalı Mountain—one of the most scenic and demanding finish lines in the sport.

Germany’s Manuel Lettenbichler delivered a masterclass performance, conquering the 64-kilometer mountain stage in 3:49:24.25 to secure overall victory. Spain’s Mario Roman followed in 3:55:12.01, while Britain’s Mitch Brightmore completed the podium with a time of 4:02:41.37.

A Destination Like No Other

Sea to Sky isn’t just about racing—it’s about place. Set against the Mediterranean coastline and the dramatic Taurus Mountains, it’s a rare event where riders and spectators experience Türkiye’s natural contrasts in real time. One day ends with sunbathing and swims in Kemer; the next unfolds on a snow-kissed summit with panoramic views of the sea below.

Despite strong winds forcing the cancellation of the traditional yacht party, the atmosphere was electric. The after-party buzz carried stories in dozens of languages, as international riders swapped tales of crashes, climbs, and camaraderie.

Where Sport Meets Tourism

Supported by Türkiye’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Antalya Governorship, Kemer Municipality, and a roster of national sponsors, Sea to Sky has evolved into more than a race. It’s a showcase of Türkiye’s unique geography and warm hospitality—a reminder that here, sport and tourism intertwine seamlessly.

For those who weren’t there, the feeling was unmistakable: you missed something special. And for those who rode, the memories are already calling them back.

Next October, the Sea to Sky will be waiting again.
