Palandöken Mountain (or simply Palandöken) is a 3,271-meter-high (10,732-foot) tectonic mountain in Erzurum, Türkiye. The summit is only 10 kilometers (6 miles) from Erzurum's city center.
The Palandöken ski resort is located at the mountain village of Başköy, 2,100 m (6,890 ft) high, on the road from Erzurum to the summit.
The ski trail is Türkiye's longest. Palandöken is known as the best mountain in Türkiye for skilled skiers due to the quality of the snow (fine-grained light powder), steepness of the slopes, and length of the trail. The most difficult run is on the mountain's backside, known as the Ejder (Turkish for "Dragon") trail.
Palandoken hosted the 25th World Universities Winter Games in 2011 thanks to star hotels at an elevation of 2400 meters. Aside from the gondola-lift that takes players to the peak, a snow blowing system and lighting system help skiers ski every time.
Palandöken transforms into a bride with the arrival of snow in October and November, and it is covered in a lush flora after the snow melts. Palandöken has a one-of-a-kind and beautiful landscape with its clean air, sunlight, flowers, and butterflies.
