Winter Run Istanbul

Winter Run, one of Europe’s most iconic winter-themed running events, returns to Istanbul’s legendary Bağdat Avenue for its fourth edition on February 15, 2026. What began as a bold celebration of cold-weather running has grown into a defining moment of the city’s sports culture — a day when thousands take over the avenue to embrace movement, community, and winter’s crisp energy.

Participation has grown rapidly: 3,500 runners braved 1°C and sleet in 2023, 6,500 joined in 2024, and an impressive 8,000 participants filled the streets in 2025. In 2026, Bağdat Avenue once again becomes a rare, traffic-free corridor where runners, families, and early-morning walkers move freely through one of Istanbul’s most vibrant districts.

The course stretches along Bağdat Avenue and the coastal route, offering a once-a-year opportunity to experience the city’s winter charm without vehicles. Winter Run has become a tradition — a joyful urban ritual where Istanbul greets the cold season with energy, color, and togetherness.
