Presidential 7th International Yacht Races – Republic Cup

Istanbul will bring sailing, Republic Day spirit, and Bosphorus scenery together on October 29–November 1, 2026, as the Presidential 7th International Yacht Races—Republic Cup takes place on the Bosphorus and the Caddebostan race course. Set across one of the world’s most recognizable waterways, the event will turn Istanbul’s shoreline into a major sailing stage where sport, ceremony, sea culture, and city identity meet.

The program will open on October 29 with the Republic Cup on the Istanbul Bosphorus, featuring windward-leeward buoy racing for all classes. On October 31, racing will continue in Caddebostan for ORC, IRC, and Sportsboat classes, while cruising classes will not race that day. The event will conclude on November 1 with the final stage and trophy closing on the Caddebostan, Moda, and Princes’ Islands line, giving the last race day a strong Marmara Sea character.

What makes this event special is the setting. Few race courses can match Istanbul’s mix of current, wind, skyline, ferries, waterfront crowds, and historic backdrops. The Bosphorus will give the Republic Cup a ceremonial and visual power, while Caddebostan and Moda will bring a more open, coastal race atmosphere to the closing stages. For visitors, the weekend can continue with Kadıköy’s cafés, Moda’s seaside walks, ferry rides, the Princes’ Islands, seafood restaurants, Turkish coffee, and long views across the Marmara. Even if you are not sailing, you will still want to follow this event—because the Republic Cup will turn Istanbul into a late-October sailing weekend where racing, national celebration, Bosphorus views, Marmara winds, and city life move together.
