Ordu Black Sea Classic

Ordu will bring international road cycling to the Black Sea coast on August 15–16, 2026, as the Ordu Black Sea Classic welcomes 17 professional teams and 119 riders from 29 countries. Held in the UCI 1.2 category, the two-day program will turn Ordu’s dramatic geography into a race story shaped by sea-level starts, steep climbs, highland finishes, and the green intensity of the Black Sea.

The opening race, Coast to Summit, will take place on August 15. Riders will start from Durugöl Kurtuluş Nature Park in Altınordu and cover 95.7 kilometers before finishing at Keyfalan Plateau. With 1,686 meters of elevation gain and a maximum gradient of 14.9%, the route will quickly move from the coast into a climbing battle where pacing, climbing legs, and team strategy will matter.

On August 16, the Ordu Black Sea Classic will again start from Durugöl Kurtuluş Nature Park and finish at Aybastı Perşembe Plateau. The 112-kilometer course will be even more demanding, with 2,794 meters of elevation gain and a maximum gradient of 11%. The finish in Perşembe Plateau will give the race one of the most distinctive backdrops in Turkish cycling: wide highland views, green meadows, and the famous meanders that make the plateau unforgettable.

Ordu will make the race weekend feel like more than a cycling event. Visitors can ride the cable car to Boztepe, explore the coastline, continue toward Yason Cape, or experience the cool air of Ordu’s highlands. Local flavors will complete the trip with hazelnuts, Ordu pidesi (Turkish Wood-Fired Crispy Cheese & Egg Boat), taflan pickles, galdirik kavurması (Black Sea Sautéed Wild Borage Stems with Garlic & Onion), and Black Sea-style home cooking. Even if you are not racing, you will still want to be here—because Ordu Black Sea Classic will turn professional cycling into a Black Sea journey from shore to summit, where coastal energy, brutal climbs, plateau views, and local culture meet in one unforgettable weekend.
