Modern Pentathlon European Championships

Istanbul will welcome Europe’s modern pentathlon community on August 3–9, 2026, as the Modern Pentathlon European Championships takes place in Üsküdar. The event will include the ECMP Obstacle Course Laser Run European Championship and the ECMP Senior Pentathlon European Championship, bringing together athletes who compete across speed, precision, endurance, focus, and tactical control.

Modern pentathlon is one of the most complete tests in sport. It asks athletes to switch rhythm, reset their minds, and perform under pressure across different disciplines. That makes the championship exciting to follow even for first-time spectators: every stage feels different, every mistake matters, and momentum can change quickly.

Üsküdar will give the event a setting that feels unmistakably Istanbul. Between competitions, visitors can walk along the Bosphorus, see the Maiden’s Tower from the shore, explore the historic atmosphere around Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, spend time in Kuzguncuk’s colorful streets, or take a tea break in Çengelköy.
