Maximum Granfondo Başkent

Ankara will bring cycling energy to the capital on August 23, 2026, as Maximum Granfondo Başkent returns for its fourth edition. Bringing together amateur and professional cyclists from across Türkiye and abroad, the event will highlight the city’s growing sports tourism potential through a race weekend built around movement, community, healthy living, and urban energy.

The program will include long and short course options, along with tandem and para-cycling categories, making the event more inclusive and open to different cycling communities. Riders will experience the rhythm of the capital from the saddle, while the race atmosphere will create a strong city moment for spectators, families, and sports fans.

And Ankara can surprise visitors when the day is planned well. Between the expo at Bilkent Center and race-day energy, visitors can turn the weekend into a capital-city break: a meaningful stop at Anıtkabir, a walk around Ankara Castle and the old city, fresh air around Eymir Lake, or a relaxed evening with Ankara classics like Aspava (The "Never-Ending Side Dishes" Tradition), Ankara tava (Ankara Style Baked Lamb with Orzo), and Beypazarı kurusu (Beypazarı Crunchy Butter Biscotti). Even if you are not riding, you will still want to be here—because Granfondo Başkent turns Ankara into a cycling weekend where sport, city culture, accessible participation, and capital spirit come together.
