International Bosphorus Triathlon & Aquathlon 2026

The International Bosphorus Triathlon & Aquathlon 2026 will return to Istanbul’s Beykoz district on August 15–16, 2026, bringing nearly 1,000 local and international triathletes to one of the most distinctive race settings in the world. Known as the world’s only intercontinental triathlon, this event will turn the Bosphorus into a true race course—where open-water swimming, fast cycling, and waterfront running meet the geography of two continents.

The main triathlon race will feature a 2.2K swim, 40K bike, and 9.7K run, while the aquathlon will offer a 2.2K swim and 3.2K run. The setting is what makes it unforgettable. Athletes will race with the Bosphorus at the center of the experience, moving through a course shaped by shoreline energy, bridge views, and the unmistakable atmosphere of Istanbul. It is a race that feels urban, scenic, and symbolic all at once.

Beykoz adds a softer, more local side to the weekend. Beyond the competition, visitors can explore Küçüksu Palace, Anadolu Hisarı (Anatolian Fortress), Yuşa Hill, Anadolu Kavağı, and the green calm of Polonezköy Nature Park. And like any good sports trip, it gets even better with food: Beykoz kebab and Beykoz soup bring a local finish to the day. Even if you are not racing, you will still want to be here—because watching a triathlon unfold on the Bosphorus, then spending the rest of the day between waterside landmarks, forest escapes, and neighborhood flavors, is the kind of Istanbul weekend that sells itself.
