CMAS Underwater Hockey World Championships

Kocaeli will welcome the world’s best young underwater hockey athletes on July 16–26, 2026, as the CMAS Underwater Hockey World Championships – Age Group Divisions takes place at the Gebze Olympic Swimming Pool. For ten days, the venue will become a global stage for speed, strategy, teamwork, and underwater precision.

This championship is one of the most important international events in the sport. It gives young athletes the chance to represent their countries, test themselves against the world’s best, and build friendships across teams and nations. Underwater hockey is fast, physical, and fascinating to watch. The action happens below the surface, but the tension is felt everywhere around the pool.

The event will also offer visitors a different side of Türkiye’s sports scene. Gebze provides a modern competition venue, while Kocaeli’s location makes it easy to combine the championship with short city and coastal discoveries. Even if you have never watched underwater hockey before, you will still want to be here—because this is a rare chance to see a global youth championship up close, where every dive, pass, and goal carries the energy of the next generation.
