8th International Golden Apricot Chess Tournament

From August 25 to 29, 2025, Malatya will take center stage in the world of chess as it hosts the 8th International Golden Apricot Chess Tournament at the Malatya Art Center.

With nearly 500 players—including 96 international competitors from 11 countries and hundreds of participants from across Türkiye—the tournament promises to be both a high-level competition and a cultural showcase. Beyond the chessboard, Malatya invites visitors to discover its unique heritage, from ancient landmarks to its renowned apricot orchards, blending sport with an authentic local experience.
