2026 CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship

Istanbul will welcome one of Europe’s biggest volleyball stages on August 21–September 6, 2026, as the 2026 CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship returns to Türkiye. After hosting the tournament in 2003 and 2019, Türkiye will host it for the third time—this time with the Pool A action taking place at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall in Bakırköy.

For Türkiye, this will be more than another championship appearance. The Türkiye Women’s National Volleyball Team, widely known as Queens of the Net, will step onto the court as the defending European champion after its historic 2023 title. In Pool A, Türkiye will face Latvia, Slovenia, Hungary, Germany, and Poland, bringing five high-energy match nights to Istanbul.

Türkiye’s Pool A schedule will begin on August 21 at 7 p.m. against Latvia. The team will then play Slovenia on August 23, Hungary on August 24, Germany on August 26, and Poland on August 28, with all matches scheduled for 7 p.m. Expect a loud arena, fast rallies, emotional points, and the kind of home-court atmosphere that has become part of Türkiye’s volleyball identity.

And Istanbul will make the week bigger than the scoreboard. Visitors can turn match days into a full city experience: Bakırköy’s coastal rhythm, Ataköy and the Marmara shoreline, easy access to the Historic Peninsula, Bosphorus evenings, and long post-match dinners across the city. Even if you are not usually a volleyball fan, you will still want to be here—because when the Queens of the Net play in Istanbul, the match becomes more than a sport; it becomes a shared city celebration.
